Voting is now closed

After two months of activity, the voting has now closed on the St George's search for a great artwork to grace the lawns of the Cathedral.

The response from all over the world has been amazing with friends and families rallying to support their favourite piece with 4,263 votes being cast.

The Selection Panel will publish their shortlist on 28 February.  Their selection will be based on the guidelines for the commission.  They will take into account the public choice when making their decision. 

When the shortlist has been confirmed, the artists are invited to participate in an exhibition in June 2009 where the maquettes will be displayed and open to the public.  The winner of the commission will be announced at that exhibition.
